Embodied Empathy: Using the Body to Hack the Brain

Forging connections between humans is dependent on our ability to interpret and imagine our own and others’ mental states. The inability to imagine the beliefs, emotions, and mental states of those who are radically different from ourselves derails human interaction and collaborative solutions.

Gina Barnett’s workshop pinpoints embodied empathy as the cure. In it, she uses movement, role play, theater games, and a series of guided exercises that enable an immediate experience of how the body influences the mind and tools to jump-start innovation and shift perspective.
