Kwame Alexander is a poet, educator, and the New York Times best-selling author of 24 books, including The Crossover, which received the 2015 John Newbery Medal for the Most Distinguished Contribution to American Literature for Children.

Anya Grundmann is VP for programming and audience development at NPR, where she leads NPR's programming center to create and acquire the highest quality content offerings that will engage and grow public radio's audience.
Our Verses, Ourselves

Newbery award–wining and New York Times–bestselling author Kwame Alexander is on a mission to make poetry and literature accessible, and cool, for all. Join him and NPR’s VP of Programming, Anya Grundmann, to beta-test a potential new series that will infuse NPR programs with poems submitted by listeners from around the country. Participants will be given word prompts and then asked to write a poem and share it.
